The Eastern Irrigation District is reminding hunters that campfires and off-highway vehicles are not permitted on district lands this fall, as hunting season gets underway across southeastern Alberta, the district said in a Facebook post Saturday.

The EID said hunters must stay on designated trails, respect livestock and gates, and ensure all watercraft are registered under the district's Aquatic Invasive Species Prevention Program. Hunters are also required to follow any posted restrictions on district lands.

"Access is a privilege, not a right — please hunt responsibly," the district said.

More information on public access rules is available at eid.ca/public_access.html.
