Medicine Hat's budget committee convened Tuesday morning with nearly its entire agenda conducted behind closed doors, including a discussion of the city's proposed 2027-2028 municipal operating and capital budget.

According to the agenda package posted by the City of Medicine Hat, the 10 a.m. meeting at City Hall's Ted Grimm Conference Room moved to close the public session to address five items under section 29 of the Municipal Government Act, which allows in-camera discussions when advice from officials is involved.

Items listed for the closed session included a managing director's service area update, a council feedback request, unfinished business from the Sept. 28 meeting, the 2027-2028 budget for municipal operating and capital, and committee action items.
