Catholic schools in Medicine Hat and across Alberta will mark Catholic Education Week from Oct. 17 to 23, with a visiting performer, parish fundraising collections and a call for supporters to wear blue on Oct. 22, the Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education said in a Facebook post Friday.

Catholic musical performer and speaker Joe Melendrez will visit schools during the week to mark the occasion.

Parishes across the province will hold a special collection in support of Catholic education. The Diocese will match the funds raised. Donations can be made at trst.in/myCgHK.
