Because the United States will continue to change its clocks seasonally, the CBSA said it will adjust hours each fall and spring at the four sites to maintain continuous alignment. The new hours take effect at 2 a.m. Mountain Time on Nov. 1 and remain in place until 2 a.m. Mountain Time on March 14, 2027.
Wild Horse, the crossing in southeastern Alberta that serves travellers between Cypress County and Montana, will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week during that period. Aden and Del Bonita will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, while Carway will run from 8 a.m. to midnight, seven days a week.
The agency said the adjusted hours will improve coordination between Canadian and American border officers, including situations where a traveller is found inadmissible and directed to return immediately to the country they came from.
Travellers who need to cross when a port of entry is unavailable are directed to use an alternate crossing. The CBSA said it works with emergency services on both sides of the border to allow crossings during emergencies.
The adjusted hours remain in effect until March 13, 2027. Travellers can reach the CBSA at 1-877-761-5945.
