A 22-year-old Medicine Hat driver has been issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction after a vehicle rollover on 7 Street SW left no injuries but produced a failed breath screening result, the Medicine Hat Police Service said in a news release Thursday.

Officers responded to the collision at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Oct. 5. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, lost control, struck a parked vehicle and rolled.

During the investigation, officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol. A breath sample returned a fail result on an approved screening device.

The driver was issued an Immediate Roadside Sanction — FAIL — resulting in a 90-day driver's licence suspension, a 30-day vehicle seizure and a $1,200 fine. No injuries were reported.
