Motz wrote on X on Thursday that food bank users reporting employment income as their main source of income is up six per cent since 2019. He said 22 per cent of food bank users identified low or delayed wages as the main reason they needed a food bank — double the figure from the previous year.
"Canadians are working hard, but their paycheques are not keeping up with the cost of everyday life," Motz wrote. "This is what the Liberal affordability crisis looks like."
Motz said Conservatives would "restore the promise that hard work is enough to get ahead and that every Canadian family can afford the basics" through lower taxes and cuts to the cost of fuel and food. He did not specify which measures would be introduced or when.
Motz did not name the source of the food bank statistics in his post.
