Medicine Hat city council will reconvene a public hearing on a rezoning application for 22 Sierra Green SW on Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall, after recessing the session earlier this month.

At its Oct. 5 regular meeting, council passed a resolution to recess and reconvene the public hearing on Bylaw 4890-2026, which deals with the rezoning of the Sierra Green SW property. The hearing had been opened as scheduled before being recessed.

Because the Oct. 19 session is a reconvened hearing rather than a new one, no additional written submissions or public representations will be accepted, the City of Medicine Hat said. Council will consider only information and submissions received before the close of the original hearing, along with any presentations made before the recess.

All submissions already received remain part of the public record.

A special notice announcing the reconvened hearing was published in the Medicine Hat News on Wednesday.
